I'm Shannon. I am a painter living and working in Richmond, Virginia. My alma mater is VCUArts. I majored in Painting and Printmaking with a minor in Art History. Television, movies, queer symbolism, and friendship inspire my artwork and the research that surrounds it. Most of my artwork focuses on the people whom I admire or am 'a fan of', leading me to define my work as "Fanatic Portraiture". This term demonstrates the obsessive quality that arises within me towards those featured in my art. The research behind specific pieces depends on my desired subject. Works featuring myself or those I personally know focus on the emotional relationship and interests of the individual(s). My celebrity guest features are determined by the context and messages of the media that they are featured in.
